Ignorance, Uncertainty and Human Errors in Contemporary Construction

This thought provoking seminar will be presented by Peter Sarlos, an Architect, Chartered Building Surveyor, Lawyer and Construction Adjudicator. Peter recently presented this topic at an international engineering convention in Helsinki, Finland and will also be returning to present at a workshop in Germany.

The seminar looks at the human and organisational factors in the management of defect avoidance in building construction where the evidence suggests that over the past 50 years there has been a significant decline in the quality of construction outcomes.

Peter will explore the circumstances surrounding the structural changes of project delivery and how this along with legislative changes has increased the complexity of compliance and reduced the oversight of work.

You will benefit from Peter’s wide ranging experience, both academically and practically, while gaining some insight into how management of construction work can be improved to provide better outcomes.
